Removal of window glass scratches
Damaged window glass can be repaired, eliminating the need to replace the entire window. Removing scratches from glass is where we are the best, and after our visit, your window will be like new.
What can be repaired on a window?
With our glass polishing technique and equipment, we often repair the following issues:
- The window has scratches
- The window has been vandalized
- There are marks from mortar or grinder sparks on the window
- The window has traces of concrete casting
- There are stains ingrained on the window
- The window has been damaged during the construction or renovation phase
If it’s, for example, a trace of concrete casting, corroded window, or a mark caused by alkalized water, we can make the windows clear again and remove the scratches from the windows.
We inspect the windows on behalf of the customer and prepare a report or quote for the windows in need of repair. This saves the site manager’s time on the construction site, and our customers can trust that the windows are in good condition upon delivery.
Glass polishing is quick and environmentally friendly
Repairing and polishing window surfaces solves many problems. It’s more cost-effective and significantly more environmentally friendly than purchasing a new window. The production and transportation of new glass contribute greatly to carbon emissions, and thanks to us, on average, up to 1,000 kg of carbon dioxide per window can be saved.
Glass polishing is also a faster solution than replacing the window. If a new window has to be ordered from the factory and installed, it can cause inconvenience and hassle for the residents. With our method, our customers and property residents have less to worry about. We remove scratches from the windows, and the glass is clear again.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Services and Glass Repair
What damages can be repaired on glass?
We can repair all surface damages that may occur on glass. As long as the glass is not cracked, we generally have a solution for all surface damages such as: glass scratches, stains on the glass, corrosion on the glass, and vandalism on the glass.
Do you repair car windshields?
We unfortunately do not repair windshields for personal vehicles, but we have repaired window glasses damaged by vandalism for transportation companies, and we are also capable of repairing window glasses for trains or ships.
What if the window is coated, for example, with UV protection?
If the glass is coated or, for example, has a selective coating, it’s important to consider where the damage is and where the coating is located. If the coating is on a different surface than the damage, we can still repair the glass normally. We also offer a dirt-repellent nanoparticle coating installed on the glass.
Is the glass as durable after glass polishing?
Yes, the glass is as durable after polishing as it was before. When glass is polished, only about a hundredth of a millimeter is removed from its surface. This doesn’t affect the durability of the glass, and the surface tension of the glass remains unchanged.
How does glass polishing work?
Glass polishing works by mechanically removing a small amount of surface material from the glass, as much as is technically necessary, for example, to remove a scratch. We have developed our own methods for glass polishing, allowing us to always use the most suitable method for each type of damage.
How much does glass polishing cost?
The cost of glass polishing depends on the amount of surface area that needs to be polished. We don’t charge based on the depth of the damage but rather on the surface area. Approximately, polishing one square meter costs: 60€ – 350€ depending on the type of damage
Is glass polishing environmentally friendly?
Glass polishing is the most ecological way to reduce waste and minimize carbon footprint compared to replacing glass. When replacing window glass, not only emissions from manufacturing, transportation, and installation of a single glass occur, but significantly more than necessary:
1. Transporting the old glass for recycling,
2. Manufacturing the new glass, and
3. Transporting and reinstalling the new glass.
Glass polishing is a clear alternative for those who want to consider the environment and keep emissions low.
